Owing
to the recent deregulation of conventional
state owned interests all over Africa, the
firm has been able to garner a great deal
of knowledge and expertise from Nigeria's
privatization experience.
Consequently,
Counsel in this unit of the firm has become
quite conversant with the distinct requirements
of public sector clients. Again, the firm's
good working relationships with the relevant
regulatory authorities goes a long way in
ensuring that clients' interests are efficiently
and expediently catered to.
Indeed
the firm has acted as Solicitors to companies
which have already been privatised in the
first phase of the nation's privatisation
exercise, particularly in the downstream
oil and gas sector. Additionally, the firm
has been part of various consortia in respect
of telecommunications,power and electricity
generation and aviation industries and is
consequently quite conversant with preparing
the various specialized documents and contracts
required regarding privatisation and deregulation,
such as EOI's, Technical and Financial proposals,
Memoranda of Agreement etc.
The
relevant counsel dealing with privatisation
projects in the firm have as a result become
quite conversant with administering due
diligence questionnaires, preparing reports
on the findings and giving legal advise
on every aspect of the exercise,as well
as reviewing terms and conditions of material
contracts.
