Intellectual property has over the years become a major asset to many companies. With the need to ensure that clients' trademarks, patents, copyrights etc. are adequately protected from infringement, this specialized department advises clients on intellectual property rights, handles the registration of trademarks, patents and designs as well as providing other necessary legal assistance where necessary such as oppositions, renewals and defense of clients' intellectual property at the various governmental agencies.

Further to the setting up of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Protection (NOTAP), the Intellectual Property department also handles the registration of technical Agreements between foreign companies and their Nigerian subsidiaries with this government agency.
